Hunting "Teiser Geods" with Paul Fischnaller
A half-day event together with the collector of minerals Paul Fischnaller...
Progress:
- Meeting place: 9.00 a.m. at the Mineralogical Museum of Tiso
- Visit of the Mineralogical Museum of Tiso: An introductory DVD gives the visitor a comprehensive overview of the formation of the cristals, which can be admired in the museum. The Geods with an diameter up to 20 cm are embedded in their bedrock. In the cavity of these Geods there are sometimes up to 7 different minerals. Amethysts and quartz cristals stand out amongst them because of their purity and agates because of their nearly geometrical circles of colours. Each cavity of a Geod contains its own special secret of its cristals, which you can explore under the guidance of Paul Fischnaller in the museum and afterwards also at the hunt of the "Geods of Tiso".
- Paul Fischnaller, the collector of minerals, who knows how to bring to light splendid minerals and who has collected all the minerals exhibited in the Mineralogical Museum of Tiso. The exhibition contains not only shiny discoveries from the mineral site at Tiso, but also from other alpine regions, where Paul Fischnaller prpsoected, as for example Swiss, Aosta Valley, the area of the Mont Blanc and also Idar Oberstein. The collection contains nor barter objects nor objects of purchase.
- Hike of approximately 20 minutes to reach the site where you can search "Geods of Tiso" under the guidance of Paul Fischnaller.
- The tools for the hunt provided by the Mineralogical Museum of Tiso.
- Duration approximately 2.5 hours
