Useful Information for Your Stay in the Mountains

  • Prior to every tour, it must be ensured that all climbers are sufficiently experienced and physically fit enough to undertake the expedition. Mountain-climbing requires sure-footedness and a lack of vertigo.
  • The proper equipment and clothing is likewise essential. In particular sturdy, ankle-high boots with rugged treads on the soles are recommended. Because the weather in the mountains can change very quickly, rain gear and warm clothing are also important.
  • Do not leave marked trails.
  • The pace of the ascent must reflect the physical fitness of the entire party. Ascending too rapidly at the beginning of a tour usually results in premature exhaustion.
  • It is essential that one avoid dislodging rocks and possibly causing avalanches since other hikers may be endangered.
  • If the weather takes a turn for the worse, if it becomes foggy, if the terrain becomes difficult or even impassable, you should return to base. This is a sign of wisdom and nothing to be ashamed about.
