How to get to the Dolomites valley

Positioned in the heart of Europe, South Tyrol has a good train network, with connecting trains from the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), Italian Trenitalia, as well as Deutsche Bahn (DB). Once in South Tyrol, DB/ÖBB train travellers can use the “Anschlussticket Südtirol”, a ticket that allows travelling with public transportation to get from the train station to their accommodation and vice versa on their day of arrival or departure.

Südtirol Transfer: If you arrive by train or bus in South Tyrol you can use a region-wide connection shuttle called “Südtirol Transfer” for the last few kilometres to your accommodation.
The shuttle brings you to your holiday accommodation from the nearby train stations in Bolzano/Bozen, Brixen/Bressanone and Bruneck/Brunico, as well as from the ‘Flixbus’ bus stops in Bolzano, Klausen/Chiusa, or Vahrn/Varna and after your holiday you will be brought back to the stop. The nearest airports beyond South Tyrol are Innsbruck and Salzburg (Austria), Munich (Germany), Verona, Bergamo, Treviso, Bologna and Venice.

Airport transfer: The connection from these airports to the respective railway stations is guaranteed by shuttle services. From there South Tyrol can be reached by Italian Trenitalia, Deutsche Bahn DB and Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB.

By car you can reach South Tyrol via the motorway A22 Brennero/Brenner. Coming from the north, follow the route Innsbruck - Brennero - Chiusa. Coming from the south, follow Verona - Trento - Bolzano. To get to Funes/Villnöss Valley get off the motorway at Chiusa-Val Gardena/Klausen-Gröden. Follow the indications to Bressanone/Brixen for 2 km and then turn right in direction Val di Funes/Villnöss Valley.

With the bikemobil Card (7, 3 or 1 day), you can rent additionally a bike or e-bike from Südtirol Bike or PapinSport for one day. The transport of the bicycle is not included in the ticket.
